But he (Shammah) took his stand in the midst of the plot and defended it
and struck down the Philistines, and the Lord worked a great victory.
II Samuel 23:12 (ESV)
Dear friends,
Sixteen Congratulations for
Mr. Shammah & Shammahs Field LLC!
The story never tires, though the pages are a bit more worn sixteen years later.
Shammah Ministries was launched June 11, 2004. Later, Shammahs Field LLC was created for business reasons. Today we celebrate another anniversary!
The past sixteen years, our ‘field’ has been the land upon which the Lord has grown and developed the practice and ministry ~ and Mr. & Mrs. Shammah. The saga would be much too long, having actually begun twenty+ years ago. Plus five years before that, and…well, you get the picture.
So, let’s go with the annual snapshot 🙂
Since the last newsletter was released in January 2019, another sixteen months have passed. What was shared then remains applicable and stronger now: “We have become increasingly aware that in order to live life forward well – and help others in their own healing and growing journeys – it is not ours to stagnate or become too comfortable from year to year. The Lord surely sees to that! Still, where it is ours to consider, plan, and walk in ways that seem most wise, we have learned to change things up from time to time. This…year is no exception.”
Long before 2020 arrived with its global and cultural tsunami, we became “accustomed” to the waves of God’s love and grace: whether teaching us consistency and being refreshed in the journey, or consistency with His ideas of transition. We learned – as we all do, by trial and error and success – that He is the fulcrum on which we balance what and how, through His principles for living of life and by His Spirit.
To that end, we sense and recognize that the Lord has brought us, again, to a new period of transition. It won’t be another seven year cycle to ‘get there’; within the next year we will have moved into it, personally and with the ministries. We do not yet know what it will look like; we just know Father’s rhythm for us is changing.
We welcome your prayers for wisdom and discernment, strength, peace, and joy. Even with all that is occurring in this year of unrest and uncertainty, we continue our work ‘in the heat of the day’, trusting the Lord to release the fresh wind of His Spirit everywhere He has been invited – in, around, and through those who love Him.
Our hearts remain committed to the expression of who God created us to be, for the purposes on His heart and in His will for us individually and together as a couple. That has not changed; the ‘field’, however, needs a good mowing and deep watering.
As the months ahead roll out, we look to our Abba, Who is faithful to His core, to delight us with the gifts He has kept in reserve for His next, fresh season for us. Though our bodies feel the weary, our spirits are daily being renewed. Considering we are not old and aged, it makes anticipating the fresh oil of His Spirit even richer.
Zechariah 4:1-14
Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel* saying,
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts. (vs. 6)

Shammah Ministries is fourteen months of content into the refocus of Nancy’s coaching website to the scripture-based study of the seven redemptive gifts of Romans 12:6-8. One by one, the seven facets of our human spirit are being overviewed and written about to acquaint readers/students of the Word in fuller measure with their God-given unique design, through which Christ lives His life.
You’re invited to explore the website which contains not only focus on the seven redemptive gifts, but also opening articles on the Person of the Holy Spirit, Proverbs’ Wisdom, blessings for your spirit, blog posts, and archived yet accessible coaching posts from the former website content. Like a river, Holy Spirit causes it all to flow.
(If you’re soul tired these days, we encourage you to engage with this life-giving material).
Bear in mind that it is in a constant state of being ‘added to’. The overview of the first two of the seven redemptive gifts (Prophet & Servant) are available. Over time, the remaining five will be overviewed as well. Along the way, the other categories mentioned above will be further developed too. It continues as a work in progress.
Subscribing on either website ensures your receipt of new content when posted.
