ADORATION
Why do I love thee?
I cannot count the ways
that your love has surrounded me
through all my life-long days
My heart breathes out whispers of praise
and Adoration.
What if I weren’t Yours,
called by Your blessed name?
There is no doubt that I’d remain
caught still in fear, mistrust and shame
“You’ve set me free!” my heart exclaims
in Adoration.
Your story has mine wrapped within
Redeemer of my life from sin
Turn not each page unless be bold
Your ink by which my story’s told
You’re ever mine to have and hold
in Adoration.
Your hand o’er mine, stroke strong and true
till all of me belongs to You
My will meets Yours, as day by day
You love me from the way I’d stay
“Keep writing, Lord! I yield,” I say
with Adoration.
Life’s not to be lived ‘old man’ exhumed
Instead, all of me by You consumed
Take my life’s throne, my Holy King
All that I am to you I bring
May I sing new songs You’ve been writing…
complete my Adoration.
