To The Messiah the Prince*
The honour of Your Presence is requested
at the celebration of Your birth,
once veiled in human flesh and infant cries,
You are the Messiah the Prince.
Jesus, come
Your government, the increase of which will see no end,
rests easily on your shoulder,
and your everlasting peace infuses the atmosphere where You dwell.
Jesus, come
You are the honoured Feast,
Bread of Heaven and Cup that quenches all who thirst for You,
Immortal You, given for us but mortal man.
Jesus, come
Your Royal Highness, The Messiah the Prince
Our great High Priest,
You who sit at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven
Ascend to the throne of our hearts.
Jesus, come
You are pleased to extend to us Your scepter of righteousness
and You grant that we may approach Your grace throne with confidence.
Never has nor ever will one rule like You
Who yearns to dwell with men and Who makes everything new.
Jesus, come
Now be pleased to accept our invitation
not merely for a day but for the remainder of our lifetime.
Take Your place and grace us with Your Presence,
King of kings, Lord of lords, The Messiah the Prince.
You who came as Majesty embodied as a babe, hear our cry of invitation:
Once again
Jesus, come
Praying “Christmas Abiding” in your heart now and always,
Gracefully Free
