But he (Shammah) took his stand in the midst of the plot and defended it
and struck down the Philistines, and the Lord worked a great victory.
II Samuel 23:12 (ESV)
Dear friends ~
Since our emergence from our one-year Sabbatical (April 2021-22), the part-time schedule we have been working has served us well. The reduced schedule and client load has allowed time to give attention to other responsibilities and relationships that are also a part of our lives. Even though this post-Sabbatical schedule has worked well, we knew going into it that it was for a shorter period and for the purpose of bringing closure to this season of our lives.
As a result, effective December 15 of this year (2023), we will be closing the counseling practice as it has existed for the last two decades. This means that individual, marriage, family, and trauma counseling that has comprised my (Wayne’s) client load will end.
I (Nancy) have already directed my time and focus back to the Redemptive Gifts teachings and inspirational writings for personal growth and spiritual development. Individual coaching and counseling sessions have closed.
Together, we do not regard ourselves as entering retirement. Rather, we are giving ourselves time to hear the Lord as to the next open door He has prepared us for. Even during the past twenty years of counseling, coaching, and serving a multitude of others, we have purposely chosen to live our lives forward, always pressing into Him.
There is more; of that we have no doubt. But we also have little idea – at the moment – what that constitutes. Which means it may be a while before we hail you with another newsletter beyond “um, huh, mmhm, …” 🙂
The remaining time –
Wayne’s part-time schedule will continue through October, November, and up to mid-December when we close the practice on Friday, December 15.
Remaining time will focus on wrapping up with current clients. New inquiries will be appropriately informed of the end date so a mutual short-term decision can be made.
Grateful Hearts
We want to express our gratitude to our counseling and coaching clients, class/retreat attendees, supporters, prayer partners, and mentors for your support of us and Shammahs Field LLC / Shammah Ministries.
Above all, we are humbly grateful to the Lord for His deep care and trust in us over these last twenty-plus years.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus the Anointed,
the love of God the Father,
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit remain with you all.
