Dear friends ~
It has unintentionally been three months (and a week, but who’s counting?!) since our last newsletter. In the meantime, a lot of ‘life’ has been happening: personally, ministry-wise, in the world, and very much felt here in our own nation of the United States. Already the first half of 2015 has sped by, leaving an increasingly turbulent wake in its path.
Having recently celebrated America’s Independence Day, we join others who recognize there is no taking life or liberty for granted. On every hand, we as believers in Christ Jesus are surrounded with mounting evidence that this world is not our home. Still, in the midst of this day and age in which we live, we have a future and a hope. And the unshakeable assurance that He Who created this world and all that is in it continues to order all eternity. Regardless of the appearance of things… Jesus we know, and He is on the throne.
Here at Shammahs Field │ Shammah Ministries, we do not make small the diverse and dire situations many are facing. We do, however, magnify the Lord , for He is much bigger – our glorious Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, the One who is, and who was, and who is coming, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8 LITV
Our prayer for you is that you will look up and encourage your heart with the truth that will surely come to pass and remain:
“When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads,
because your redemption is drawing near.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”
Luke 21:28,33 NIV

TIME FOR A REMODEL?
Recently, Nancy and I have had the opportunity to do some remodeling, both willingly and unwillingly. We planned for some time of vacation, looked ahead on the calendar, and booked time and travel to visit and help one of our adult children and their spouse do a remodeling job on their guest bathroom.
Since this was planned, we were content to help tear their bathroom apart – layer by layer, piece by piece, cabinet by cabinet, and pipe by pipe. The reason for this undertaking was that even though this bathroom was perfectly functional, it was extremely outdated and in need of being reworked. To our daughter, this portion of the house was an eyesore! However, with all of us contributing, we were able to transform this eyesore into a place of beauty.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we had already little by little been doing some updating of our own and were glad to be home to relax. Our relaxing was short lived when a plumbing connection came loose, flowing freely into the interior of our home. We returned from a day in the office to be greeted by water, water everywhere.
The resulting days have been filled with long hours of working on our home after long hours of working in our office. The point being, it is much more pleasant to do remodeling work when it is planned.
Because we humans also need some internal remodeling work done from time to time, I can tell you it is much more pleasant to work with individuals who are more intentional about internal remodeling than it is to work with someone in a meltdown who needs a complete overhaul – today.
There are crisis times; we work with them. However, crises are nearly always accompanied by warning signs along the way that have indicated the need for some attention. Human nature as it is, though, we often wait until an internal plumbing connection comes loose or the toilet backs up before we come face to face with the urgency of the situation. We can learn to respond sooner than later by inviting the Lord’s enabling grace.
We read in Psalms 51 in The Message –
I’ve been out of step with you for a long time,
in the wrong since before I was born.
What you’re after is truth from the inside out.
Enter me, then; conceive a new, true life.
Soak me in your laundry and I’ll come out clean,
scrub me and I’ll have a snow-white life.
Tune me in to foot-tapping songs,
set these once-broken bones to dancing.
(- to the rhythm of verses five, six, seven, eight 🙂 )
How is your internal house doing? When was the last time you did a home inspection with the Master Builder to see if you are up to date with His design?
We can open a work ticket for you if you like.
