But he (Shammah) took his stand in the midst of the plot and defended it
and struck down the Philistines, and the Lord worked a great victory.
II Samuel 23:12 (ESV)
Dear Friends,
Join us in praise as we mark Mr. Shammah’s 14th year of private practice in Shammahs Field!
Assuming (we can’t remember that far back) that June 11, 2004 was a Monday when the proverbial shingle was hung and he opened the ‘closet office’ door for clients (whom he initially prayed in while he waited for all that white space to fill in), here we are! Monday, June 11, 2018. Full circle. Double sevens. Of course – since cycles of seven seem to be God’s significant timetable for us.
We sensed in early January that 2018 was to be a ‘pivotal’ year. No clue as to what that would look like. So we are in discovery mode again. It’s been insightful and invigorating!
We are pursuing together that which Holy Spirit is delighting to guide us into in this season of our lives. More of His ‘all truth’, continuing to build glorious on the foundation He’s been meticulously restoring for 25 years.
With Him, it’s “we’ve only just begun” wedded with “look how far He’s brought us.” Always new.

- John 16:13 The Greek word for “truth” is “reality,” not “doctrine.” It is the application of truth that matters, not just a superficial knowledge.
- John 16:14 As translated from the Aramaic. Or “he plants what is mine and shows it to you.”
“the first half”
As related in our September 2017 newsletter, a desire of God’s heart is that our marriages experience His love and reflect His increasing glory.
We initially explored bringing to Spokane a ministry primarily focused on discovering our personal relational style and how we love, for the development and strengthening of our invested relationships. As a result, the Lord prompted some strategic first steps we can take to enhance preparation of hopefully hosting a future seminar.
We have more strategizing to do, along with putting feet to details. It’s still on the table; and timing matters.
Little did we know that this desire related back in September would open the door to an increased number of marriages being brought to us for counseling/prayer ministry.
Meanwhile, HeartSync Ministries (the other ministry we referred to in our previous newsletter) has been undergoing their own vital growth and approach as to the reach of their ministry. For now, we rest in the Lord’s wisdom.
“the second half”
On the Shammah Ministries side, Nancy has had an increase of counseling clients, continues with life coaching, and with Wayne, shares in some marriage counseling as couples make request for both.
Like an old friend revisited, June 11 was also the embarking of a trio of women on a 9-month journey through Listen to My Life, the visual mapping process of one’s life story.
Finally, the cherry on top this year is the offering of a third women’s retreat – “Life in the Vineyard” – themed around unearthing the value of God’s design for renewing our mind, transforming our soul, and living a fruitful life. A blend of current brain science and John 15 truths, the retreat will be held October 5-7 and already has 20 of 24 available slots registered. There’s a keen sense of anticipation building these months!
