But he (Shammah) took his stand in the midst of the plot and defended it
and struck down the Philistines, and the Lord worked a great victory.
II Samuel 23:12 (ESV)
Dear friends ~
It has been five months since we provided our Midway through Sabbatical update the beginning of last October. Like the rest of you, we moved through the remainder of 2021 with its restrictions and challenges, interspersed with the holidays and fresh hopes that a year’s closure brings. 2022, a significant year for transition, is already calling for heightened faith, hope, and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ.
On a personal level, we have enjoyed “living life” these past eleven months. The physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual rest we so needed has been supplied by the Lord in life-giving and restorative ways. Sabbatical is a gift.
Our set-apart time with the Lord has been full and rich as we have daily given Him our undivided attention. In turn, the Spirit and the Word have brought to bear a deepened work, greater clarity, and weaving together of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in varied facets and relationships of our personal and family lives.
At the close of this eleventh month, we continue to look to the Lord for the timing and framework of our emergence from Sabbatical. There have been hours spent in discussion, prayer, contemplation, and processing the past twenty years of ministry. Before any concrete decisions and steps are taken, we know we are to realize the full twelve months of our sabbatical year; after which, we will provide another newsletter update.
Meanwhile, we are grateful for you and whatever work the Spirit has been about in your lives and circumstances, both earthly and heavenly – natural and spiritual.
Our prayer remains that you experience increased movement of the Lord’s hand and will for your lives, as history and Father’s eternal plan advances. May we all capture a greater sense and knowledge of His purpose, plan, and placement of our life and times in this age in which we are living. That, together, we may make His praise glorious! (Psalm 66:2)
May the grace of the Lord Jesus the Anointed,
the love of God the Father,
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit remain with you all.
