When the Lion Roars – Repeat Performance

September 18, 2011 by Nancy Bentz 2 Comments

Three weeks ago my blog “When the Lion Roars” ended with this:

The Lion knows how to put on the finishing touches. He already ROARED! I’ve been living in the echoes all year long.

Gracefully Free waiting for Faithful & True

Well. I’m here to tell you, Faithful & True showed up in a repeat performance!

Not only do I no longer have a surgery date scheduled for October 10 with the issue of insurance still in question, I had the surgery this past Thursday. When Faithful & True shows up, things happen in a hurry.

As you’ll recall, I was first on the waiting list to move my procedure into September. It would need to occur with adequate time before our upcoming vacation departure. What I didn’t share is that only three possible cancellations could occur with the right time slot to fit my surgery. September 1 came and went, September 12 came and went. Then September 15, the final possibility, opened up for me.

The Lion indeed knows how to put on the finishing touches! I suspect a big red smiley face with my name written next to it was displayed on His calendar since this second breast cancer journey started 14 months ago.

As I prepared to share this news on tonight’s blog post, it struck me that this final reconstruction surgery brings closure to this past season of my life. One minor procedure remains, a couple months out, then the reconstruction project will be finished. How I praise the Lord for His incredible love, tender mercy, and faithfulness beyond belief!

Of course, my social calendar will still be full of regular doctor visits and lab work for the next several years. Yet each visit will provide opportunity for Faithful & True to prove that indeed, He is faithful and true.

This past week’s cancellation and subsequent surgery was proof that when the Lion roars, He has spoken and nothing will prevent Him.

How has Faithful & True been weaving Himself into your story?

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True …” Revelation 19:11 (KJV)

Gratefully Triumphant!
