Happy Birthday, Rielyn & Happy Anniversary, Wellspring of Life!
There is a sense of awe and gratitude in me as I compose the “Wellspring” Fifteenth Anniversary & Birthday Edition! It flows in both directions as I recognize the amount of growth that has occurred. In the blog and its growing portfolio of lessons learned with wisdom gained and shared – and in our lovely, lively fifteen-year-old granddaughter, Rielyn ♥
Triple Grace
Nothing is finer than a fiver when it comes to the number of grace. Five means grace, my name means grace. And in both plodding and miraculous ways, Wellspring commemorates for me the triple grace of the Lord these fifteen years of recording the goodness and glory found in His mercy land. Last year’s fourteenth shone on His commitment.1
I think another title for this celebratory issue could be Grace upon Grace upon Grace. God’s grace is not redundant. Instead, it multiplies, compounded to meet us right where we have need of His grace at any given time or situation.
Compounded has synonyms of, get this, – combined, intensified, heightened, deepened. Wellspring is my witness.
Triple Fives
Rielyn, too, has grown a year at a time, but viewed from triple fives…the amount of growth is undeniable! A child from one to five years old, followed by six to ten years old, then eleven to fifteen years old … such incredible change. Kids’ annual school pictures certainly capture transformation in one year, cloaked in an imperceptible day at a time.
How I love your face, RJ. You have natural beauty, no doubt about it. Inside, where others can’t peer in, you are regarded by the Lord as if you were the only one of His loves. It’s how He views every one of His beloveds. Which makes Him incredible, how He can hold in His heart the multitude who, one by one, seeks His loving embrace.
It’s part of my joy that Wellspring of Life was given to me. I hold it closely as a gift, knowing His calling to write. And it’s a special part of my joy that you, Rielyn, were given to our family branch by Father God who knew we need you.
The rest of your tribute will be written in a Grandma letter. It’s time for both the public post and a private one ♥
Twenty Years to Present
It was twenty years ago that I first put fingers to laptop keys. The first five years were the hidden scribings; as in, “I don’t have what it takes to write a blog!” It’s just that the words wouldn’t stay bound up and I knew how to type.
So, I began and didn’t stop. I’ve kept writing. Now here we are ~ raising a glass of ‘fruit that will last’ – aged fifteen years – to Jesus. He is the Reason. Every single day, every single year, every single season of this Wellspring life.
I never tire of this closing line of love offered to You, my Bridegroom-King: I love You more than last year, forever.
Happy 15th Birthday to you, dear RJ. One granddaughter for us, holding a place in our hearts all your own. We pray this next year unfolds in great and gracious ways Father God has planned ahead for you. The Lord is the best gift-Giver ~ hands out, heart open!
